Pay attention to the distance between the light source and the receiving surface
There are two common distances here, one is the distance between the light source and the ceiling, and the other is the distance between the light source and the wall. Generally speaking, the farther the light source is from the receiving surface, the larger the diffusion range of light and the more uniform the light can be obtained.
A common hanging lamp like this has a light strip placed inside the ceiling, but due to the narrow distance from the ceiling, the light cannot actually escape. The picture I am looking for here is still a rendering. If it is a real scene, the light should be even harder. If the ceiling construction is still perfunctory, the unevenness will be fully displayed because the light cannot spread well due to such a small gap, If you pay attention to such examples, they should be visible everywhere.
As for the distance from the wall, the same applies. Imagine if we place the light strip directly against the wall, at least half of the light will directly hit the wall, making it difficult to diffuse and creating glare on the wall. Therefore, the conclusion is that the smaller the distance from the wall, the harder the light, the greater the light ratio, and the farther away from the wall, the more layered and softer the light.
So what is the best distance between the ceiling and the wall? The best way is to test it because the actual situation of each project is different, and the actual effect of lighting will be affected.
The distance between the light source and the ceiling should be maintained between 300mm and 500mm, and the distance between the light source and the wall should be maintained between 200mm and above.
