Lamp type
After understanding the parameters of the lighting, let’s take a look at the types of lighting fixtures:
According to the types of lighting fixtures, they can be divided into the following types:
·Incandescent lamp
An incandescent lamp is a light emitted by thermal radiation when tungsten filament is heated to an incandescent state. The advantage of incandescent lamps is that they are close to sunlight, have a continuous spectrum, and have a color rendering index above 95; The disadvantages are low color temperature, severe power consumption, and short service life (about 1000h).
·Halogen lamp
Also known as quartz bulb, it is an incandescent lamp plus, which not only inherits the advantages of good color rendering from incandescent lamps, but also has a longer service life and higher luminous efficiency.
·Fluorescent lamp
Also known as a fluorescent lamp (commonly known as “electric pole”), it is composed of a lamp tube and an inductive ballast. The mercury vapor inside the tube releases ultraviolet light after being energized, and the fluorescent powder on the lamp tube wall emits light after absorbing ultraviolet light.
The advantages of fluorescent lamps are higher luminous efficiency, diverse color temperatures, and long service life (about 3000h) compared to incandescent lamps. The disadvantages are discontinuous spectra, a color rendering index of only about 85, flickering lights (which should be deeply experienced by children’s shoes who used to study at night), and mercury pollution.
·LED lights
LED, abbreviated as Light Emitting Diode, is a solid-state semiconductor component that converts electrical energy into light energy. The advantages of LED lights are instant on, high brightness, power saving, long service life (>50000 hours), and no mosquito infestation.
The disadvantage is that the spectrum is uneven, and low-quality LED lights have a low color rendering index, even below 50. This is why many LED lights look dazzling, but the lighting effect is poor.
Luminaires can be divided into the following types according to device types:
·Ceiling lamp
The most common type of lighting fixture in home decoration is installed with the bottom completely attached to the roof.
·Chandelier
The lighting fixtures hanging below the ceiling are divided into single head chandeliers and multi head chandeliers (net red molecular lights are one of the multi head chandeliers).
·Floor lamp
The floor lamp is composed of a lampshade, a bracket, and a base, which is easy to move and is generally arranged in the living room or rest area, paired with sofas and coffee tables, for local lighting or creating a corner atmosphere.
·Desk lamp
A small light fixture placed on desks, dining tables, and other countertops for reading and work, with a small and concentrated illumination range that does not affect the overall lighting of the room.
·Spotlights
Spotlights are small lighting fixtures installed around suspended ceilings, walls, or furniture, characterized by high light concentration, direct illumination on objects that need to be emphasized, and strong contrast between light and dark.
